Craniosacral for Moms & Babies in Oakland
CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle and effective treatment for babies, promoting the realignment of bones and tissues and supporting their growth and development. Some babies come into the world with big stories that need to be listened to. We allow them to share these with us, give them permission to express and unfold, creating a greater sense of well-being. Many parents seek out CranioSacral Therapy for breastfeeding, sleep, and developmental issues, traumatic births, colic or digestive concerns, torticollis, or cranial malformation. Many families find that babies that receive the work sleep better, breastfeed and digest more efficiently, and can be generally happier.
What if my baby is sleeping or needs to nurse during our CranioSacral therapy session?
I will work around you and your baby’s needs in the session. I can work with your baby in my lap, in your lap, while nursing, sleeping in the car seat, etc. Wherever you and your baby are in the rhythm of your day is fine!
SUPPORTING MOMS
Becoming a new parent is one of the biggest blessings there is. It is also one of life’s biggest challenges. And while I work with babies to resolve physical restrictions, I also love supporting moms through this powerful transitional time. I like to remind my clients that you are not only birthing a baby, but also a mother. New moms deserve as much love and compassion and understanding as new babies.
Moms will do anything to help their babies feel more comfortable in their bodies but often totally neglect themselves. I started doing mommy/baby sessions, so both moms and babies could feel better in their bodies. In fact, I have discovered that working on moms actually accelerates a baby’s healing. If I come across an area on a baby’s body that is not releasing, and I treat the exact same spot on the mom, the baby learns how to release in that same spot. Yes…Babies and moms are THAT connected!

SUPPORTING PREGNANT MOMS
We all dream of having the perfect, healthy, relaxing pregnancy: eating only healthy food, doing tons of yoga, exercising, meditating and spending time connecting with the baby everyday. But there are so many other things that need to get done! The nesting urge takes over and suddenly you are obsessed with moving furniture, researching baby carriers, organizing your closets and managing an ever-expanding TO-DO list.
This is a great time to come in for a CranioSacral Therapy session. I LOVE working with pregnant moms and facilitating a deeper connection with your baby and your body. Structurally, we will work with the bones and tissue of your pelvis to help your body open and soften for birth. We will dialogue with your body and your baby to get you connected for the journey ahead, and we will work with your emotions about the birth process. We will also visualize your ideal birth and create a feeling of calm and readiness in your body and spirit.
Give yourself and your baby some yummy sacred time to slow down and connect more deeply! Come on in!
“I had CranioSacral Therapy sessions with Sirena when I was not yet pregnant, and they were fantastic! This past session, when I was about 5 months along, was absolutely outstanding. I felt as though a deep inner peace was accessed as my body melted into relaxation. Sirena is an incredibly gifted CranioSacral Therapist and I’m so grateful to her for being present to what I needed in that healing space. I am excited to return, and particularly excited for my baby to have sessions. Thank you Sirena” – Sara D – Oakland, CA
“I went to Sirena for my first cranial sacral session when I was 8.5 months pregnant with my second child and did not know what to expect. While I went in to the session open-minded, it was not without anxiety and stress about the impending changes. I walked out with a sense of relaxation, calmness and confidence that I had it within me to gracefully accept and take on these new challenges with my family. Sirena’s gentle touch and soft spoken visualizations helped be to connect with my unborn child, and reconnect with my myself and my family during the last month of pregnancy. I was amazed that this subtle technique could have such a positive effect on me. I am now feel more grounded and ready to begin my next journey.” – Jasmina G. – Oakland, CA
